I love recapping a year in numbers. There’s something about fitting a whole year into a neat little blog post that makes me feel like anything is possible.
You might remember that in last year’s tally, I had beaten 421 levels in Candy Crush. Now—I’ve mastered 751. And that’s not the only number from this past year that gives me a rush! Without further ado, here is my 2014 in numbers:
- responsive websites designed + developed – 36
- new twitter followers – 139
- blog posts written – 20
- newsletters sent (see them all!) – 10
- new newsletter subscribers – 149
- new free reports created – 1 (get 5 Tips for Partnering with a Web Designer)
- clues your website belongs with the dinosaurs – 8
- weeks on vacation – 1 (Disney!)
- weeks of accidental vacation – 1 (because my Mac had to go to Apple for 5 days)
- office walls painted intense teal – 4 (photo coming soon!)
- projects that stalled – 3 (Do your projects stall here too?)
- conferences attended – 3 (WordCamp, Web Afternoon & I spoke at CFC!)
- cups of coffee consumed per day – 3 going on 4 (My trusty Keurig continues to pump out caffeine. We are having a long-term love affair.)
- levels beat on Candy Crush – 751 (Addicted? Maybe. Awesome? Definitely.)
- number of new packages created – 4
- number of steps I’m trying to do a day – 10,000 (yay for Fitbit!)
- number of steps I actually manage to do a day – 7,000 (I really need to up my game)
- times per week I get my ass kicked at boot camp – 2 (I keep hoping it will get easier.)
As we embark on 2015, the term turbo-charge comes to mind! Not only am I continuing to hone my services and packages and update my website, I’m also ramping up my productivity with the help of magical devices like my new SSD (which has resulted in a lightning-fast computer). How did I live without it?!
Great job with achieving all those awesome numbers!! You’ve inspired me to make up my own list of numbers. I will be challenging you on the fitbit steps since I am in need of motivation to step away from my computer!
Oh yeah, step away from the computer!! Thanks, Kristin!
Congrats Jill! You were awesome at CFC, I’m sure you’ll do great on Creative Live.
This was a fun read. I have used the Nike+ app since its inception and I always enjoy getting my running efforts in a ‘by-the-numbers’ view. I did get a Fitbit for Christmas and still not sure if I need it along with Nike+ and my Garmin watch, except that I know of many who use them and have challenged me – so ‘turbo-charged’ is indeed fitting for this next year.
I am also branching out, from graphic design, into web design and development and your candid approach to your work is a great source of encouragement to me, thank you!
Here’s to 2015!
